Hungary says needs Russian gas to diversify supplies
BUDAPEST, Jan 12 (PRIME) -- Hungary is working to diversify its fuel supplies for which Russian gas is necessary, head of the Prime Minister's Office Gergely Gulyas said on Thursday.
"Diversification is important. A part of diversification is keeping Russian imports … We are working on being independent, either from Russia, or from the West and on having the possibility of buying gas everywhere," the official said.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said earlier that imports of liquefied natural gas from Qatar could be agreed in about three years. Negotiations on natural gas and oil imports were also held with Oman.
